New publication on the role of LMX on recovery from work
In a diary study, Judith Volmer, Eva-Maria Schulte and Charlotte Fritz investigated the relationship between perceived Leader–Member Exchange (LMX) und positive affect, and between positive affect and recovery from work in the evening.
The results indicate a direct relationship between the perception of LMX and positive affect in work. Additionally, a positive affect was correlated with the recovery factors “mastery” and “relaxation”. The variability of LMX over the workweek moderates these positive, indirect effects.
All in all, it was possible to deduce that the perception of LMX can potentially influence employees’ free time.
