The curriculum allows you to establish your own thematic focus areas. You will learn how to generate knowledge and make use of this knowledge in a wide range of jobs and professional fields (museums, independent cultural offices, policy consultation, publishing, media, tourism, public relations and cultural work in companies and local authorities, cultural management). Successfully completing the bachelor’s minor subject opens up the opportunity to begin a master’s degree programme in European Ethnology.

Your prospects of successfully entering the job market are strengthened when you have the ability to react independently, flexibly and appropriately to workplace demands and situations. In this regard, practical experience is very beneficial. Through projects within the university and internships during the semester breaks, you can gain this practical experience at many different conceivable workplaces. Having completed the bachelor’s minor subject, further qualifications are possible in archiving or librarianship, cultural management, intercultural communication, publishing or public relations.
